The Theologies of Bruce Springsteen -- March 23, 2017, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Author Azzan Yadin-Israel in Conversation with Will Storrar of the Center of Theological Inquiry
Luce Hall at the Center of Theological Inquiry is the site of an intimate conversation with Azzan Yadin-Israel, Professor of Jewish Studies, Rutgers University, and Dr. William Storrar, Director of the Center of Theological Inquiry. They will discuss Yadin-Israelís book The Grace of God and the Grace of Man: The Theologies of Bruce Springsteen (Lingua Press, 2016).
Since the release of his first album almost half a century ago, Bruce Springsteenís music has held a special place in the hearts and souls of millions of fans the world over. He has won several Grammy awards, an Oscar, and the Presidential Medal of Freedom, without losing touch with his roots. To this day, he continues to perform marathon concerts before sold-out stadia. But even after decades in the spotlight, one aspect of Springsteenís music remains largely unexplored: the biblical and theological motifs he weaves into his lyrics. As Azzan Yadin-Israel shows in his book Springsteen engages these themes throughout his career, with remarkable depth and sensitivity.
This is a 'pay as you go' event; it would be great to have a contingent of Mens' Club members there.
Tickets available here or by calling 609-924-8144 x 113
